Prediction Model of Moisture , Fat, and Free Fatty Acid Content of Physic Nut (Jatropha curcas L.)

ESTATE CROPS NEWS – Physic nut is a potential source of biodiesel. It is high in fat content, above 40% and has not been usesed for other purposes. Moisture, free fatty acid, and fat content are the chemical compounds and determinant factor for physic nut seed quality. The objective of this study was to develop a method to predict chemical composition of physic nut by NIR spectroscopy and PLS calibration. The study was conducted using three provenances of physic nut, i.e. IP-3A, IP-3M, and IP-3P, with 85 samples each. (more…)

Crop yield is determined by several morpho-physiological characters such as leaf area, leaf thickness, the number of stomata, the rate of photosynthesis, chlorophyll content, relative water content (RWC), and leaf osmotic potential. Effectivity of Beauveria bassiana Formula Against Cotton Bollworm

IP-3P Fence Castor Oil (Jatropa curcas L.) Variety

SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – The IP-3P variety of Fence Castor Oil is the result of reoccurring selections of IP2-P population. The seedbed period is 6 weeks, the age for the first flower is 6 weeks after transplanting, and the age on the initial harvest is 14 weeks after transplanting. In the first year, the number of panicles is around 60 panicles/plant and 500 – 550 fruits/plant. The weight of 1000 seeds is 685 grams with 7% moisture content the yield potency increases in line with the age. (more…)

SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – Asb 81 vareity comes from the negative mass selection of population from Muneng village, Probolinggo Regency, East Java. Salak Early Coconut Variety

SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – The Salak variety is an early coconut variety resulted from germ exploration in Pemantang Panjang, South Kalimatan in 1980s. This variety grows well on lowland area up to 300 m above sea level. In the dry area with wet climate (rain fall <2.500 mm/year). The plant starts to produce at the age of 2 years and reaches full harvest at the age of 3 years. The coconut is small, rather curcular and green in color. The production is 80-120 coconut/tree/year. Ramindo 1 Ramie (Bochmeria nivea) Variety

SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – One of the fibre plants potentially developed in Indonesia is ramie plant. Ramindo 1 variety has specific characteristics namely having small leaves, bright green, roough-wrinkled, densed fine hairy, taper leaf angle, densed red bud composite, the leaves are slightly serrated and sharp. The pink flower in color will turn red when the flowers are old/ripe. This ramie variety has green stems and 190-255 cm in height, stem diameter of about 11-13 mm, and the number of tillers of about 12-17 tillers/clump. (more…)

Mapanget Coconut Late Variety

SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – Mapanget coconut is a kind of coconut variety launched as national high yield coconut variety in 2005. Coconut was resulted from the selection of positive mass population of coconut in Mapanget village, District of Dimembe, Minahasa district, North Sulawesi. It grows well in lowland area up to 300 m above sea level. The area of coconut development covers dry land with wet climate (rainfall >2.500-3.500 mm/year). (more…)
